The Wines of René Dubois, Ollon (VD)
The giant of the vines
Impressive in the size of his estate, his professionalism, and his vision, René Dubois did not settle for taking over the family business. He also expanded his activity by acquiring new vineyard areas in Ollon, where he now produces precise, taut, and remarkably vibrant single-varietal wines.
At just over 35 years old, René Dubois already has an extraordinary background. When his brother Salomon takes over the family estate in Épesses, Lavaux, their father entrusts him with the four hectares of vines in Vouvry, on the condition that the entire harvest is sold to his brother.
But the ambitious winemaker is quick to want to write his own story. When the opportunity to acquire the De Giorgi family estate in Ollon arises, he immediately seizes his chance. While continuing his activity in Vouvry, he begins to produce his own wines in the Vaud Chablais.
A vine-centered approach
Holding a master's degree in viticulture, René Dubois focuses his expertise primarily on vineyard work:
"I have a master's degree in viticulture. I didn't know enough about oenology to produce the same wines on my own, so I hired my brother."
Today, each follows his own path: Salomon Dubois is established in Lavaux while René develops his own identity through a range of single-varietal wines that highlight the terroirs of Ollon and Bex.
The emblematic grape varieties of the estate
Chasselas
Savagnin Blanc
Gamay
Cabernet Franc
Regarding Gamay, René Dubois emphasizes:
"Gamay thrives and takes on a stronger character in the typical gypsum soils of the Bex and Ollon terroirs."
Always in search of innovation, the estate also produces special cuvées and experiments with different aging methods to reveal the full potential of its terroirs.

Duo 2021
Inspired by the great Bordeaux blends, this limited edition cuvée combines René Dubois' Cabernet Franc with the Merlot of Ticino winemaker Fabio Zanini. A dense and still young wine, marked by smoky notes, white truffle, verbena, and prunes.
Précellence N°1 2021
A true gem harmoniously combining richness and freshness. The nose reveals aromas of mango, quince paste, honey, and white tea. The palate, fresh and elegant, extends these flavors with notes of peach and mango.
